Monetizing adult

Just curious. How would one monetize an adult website, apart from offering the premium membership option?

I doubt if any body but other porn websites would want to advertise on the site and the site might not qualify for adsense or other programs.

Any suggestions?

Why bother? There are so many free porn websites that the porn industry is reeling. Business at the paid porn sites is way down. Amateurs are posting on several xxx-tube sites and taking paying business away from the professionals.

There might be a way for small-time xxx website owners to make money, but if there is, people are sitting on the secret. Also, don't forget that there are sooooooo many porn websites that it's awfully hard to stand out from the crowd and 1) get any visitors at all and 2) get them to part with their money.

I looked at your JapanIndians website. It's very nice.

I see this coming weekend is the Sanja Matsuri in Asakusa. I'd love to be there!!!!!! I'm very familiar with the neighborhood. If it's still there, stop by the Restaurant Takihachi, at 1-15-1 Hanakawada (it's just a few steps from the Kannon). Make sure to say hello to Miyaki for me ;). Say hello to her from Sid, the American who became friends with Yama about 5 years ago. Maybe I'll be back at the end of this year.

Hi Newyorkdude,

Great to come across on this forum who is more familiar with Tokyo than myself!! ;-)

Regarding the adult website monetization, though they say "Sex sells", perhaps we should forget this old adage in the internet world.

If we stick to adult domain name flipping, is there is a good market for good keywords? Are there examples of the same in the .in, .co.in category? (Ofcourse, sex.in, porn.in, nude.in, etc must have already changed hands at top dollar.)

The world has not changed completely. Sex still sells. It's just that the world of sex on the internet is changing. The professional sex sellers have been knocked down. They are having trouble getting up.

I get a lot of my information from xxxjay.com. I don't say it's the best or the last word. It's just one small window into a larger world. A lot of what appears on this site is of dubious taste, so be careful.

I don't know anything at all about flipping porn names, especially .in and .co.in porn names. All I know is that almost everyone has a few porn names which they try to sell, so the field is very, very, very crowded.

You in Tokyo? That's a real city (high praise coming from a New Yorker).

Right, I'm in NYC. Right now you're probably enjoying the rising yen and the sinking dollar. Do us a favor. Buy some American things and help us out of this financial mess ;)

Sex does sell and to be honest it does not matter what the domain or extension is if the content is interesting and quality and always updated and your SEO is good you will get traffic and punters spending money. Parking pages for adult domains are boring seen one seen them all and most visitors wont click because they are not as nieve as they used to be and pretty much know what a parking page via namedrive or sedo is.

Also keep your site clean and legal see saeg.co.uk (webmaster info) for that side of it. ITs a site specialising on adult webmasters.

Something else which is important when promoting Adult content is building ABC links this not only gets your name out there by having other sites linking to you which is good for SEO its also a way of channeling customers from other sites to yours and lets say they visited bobs site and its poor quality and then they see your link and come to yours and blown away by your content they are more than likely to spend money with you. This works!! so use a program like linkex for this and vet your links carefully remember keep legal and use only quality adult affiliate programs and the money will role in.

All this info is obviously only if your into developing and to be honest thats the only way you will get good revenue off an adult domain infact any domain but with adult sites developments you can earn a packet as much as $100 per signup on some programs.. get a few of these a month on a network of sites all earning you do the math.

Drop me a pm if you need any help on this as i run a large adult network and can through you some tips.
