What are the main religions of India? And what are the origins of those religions. Are there any conflicts between the sects there?

From what I know, there are conflicts between many of the religions. For example, between Hindus & Muslims, between Hindus & Christians, between Muslims & Christians, between Sikhs & Hindus.

I must tell you there are no such conflicts when it comes to a common man. I am staying In India-I am comfortable with whosoever is around my house, workplace, market ...any where and every where.And this is the attitude of each and every person, nobody wants any kind of unpleasantness. These conflicts and differences are politically motivated and are given undue importance by the miscreants.Otherwise every one wants to lead a peaceful life and wishes the same for all.

I think you hit the nail on the head sanju123. The common people are happy to live together, and accept the differences of others when it comes to religion, beliefs, lifestyle etc.

I think the people who can't accept these differences cause many of the conflicts we see.
