Why do the top domain registrar like Godaddy do not sell .in domains? Where as its competitors like Namecheap have it too?

I think to become an Indian registrar you need to have some sort of a nexus with India.

A lot of companies that offer .in are just resellers for another registrar - I'm pretty sure that's the case with Namecheap. I know that's the case with Moniker.

Godaddy is starting to expand internationally - they just opened an office in Canada so that they could offer Canadian domains. I'd imagine it's just a matter of time before they do the same in India.

.in is still a coveted domain, most major domain registrars still do not have this in their domain listings. Maybe this is due to some government policy, and that can be the reason why .in are still so much costly. Others like .us are cheaper.
