SiliconIndia.com reports that when it comes on advertising, India only spends 1 - 1½ percent on online advertising:
That's a low percentage. This is expected to increase by 3-4 percent in three years.
Only one to one-and-half percent of the total advertising spend is presently going to online advertising segment in India, while U.S. and U.K are spending eight to nine percent and six to eight percent respectively.
