The Economist magazine has trademarked "the economist" and not "economist". There are no TM issues.

Offer it to "The Economist"

Alternatively development may add value. I only see this as around mid $xxx as it stands as more of a job title as opposed to relating to the economy (That would be quite valuable) but you know that and it is not the name in question.

But just like economists (3 economists, 5 different answers ), from domainers you are likely to get very differing answers in respect of value etc.

Based on the application of this name definitely low $X,XXX and considering that the Indians take the economy very seriously, good name to have for any company.
