Mahindra just won the domain MahindraRetail.com in a WIPO UDRP dispute.
I was surprised that Mahindra didn't already own this domain as one of Mahindra's companies is called Mahindra Retail Private Limited. When I checked whois history, it indicates that Mahindra did own this domain in 2007. Perhaps Mahindra inadvertently allowed the domain to drop? I see at least two different owners and one proxy whois since 2008.
The respondent in this case is Standard Tactics, LLC (BTW, I see no evidence that the company monetised this domain through parking.)
Things worked out for Mahindra this time round, as the domain it allowed to drop involved the Mahindra trademark. It probably wouldn't be so lucky if it lets a generic domain drop next time!
