Where did you learn this from?

As a young man, I was fond of my uncle, a computer scientist. He was an accomplished businessman with a huge bias on website creation and development. At times, I think it is much better and easier to learn from the job rather through the numerous courses online.

It all begins with interest because not everyone ever wants to deal with websites, SEO and/or freelance writing and so on and so forth. Up until this moment, there are people who have never understood what I do. I basically learned the ropes on my own though much later, I stumbled upon an awesome mentor.

I had access to a very old PC when I was at school. A local web company asked if I could have a look at their website, and then offered money because all school children know computers. I nodded, bought a book about html, and built them an improved site in Notepad in my spare time. I've been working in the web ever since.

Wow that's awesome buddy, my story is similar to yours, i first used a computer in my school and learnt all the basics from that comp, but the only difference is i didn't build any website.

Am I the only one who developed an interest after becoming an adult? I used to be intimidated by computers growing up, but somehow the older I got, the less scary they seemed and finally I decided to jump in and teach myself all about them. I haven't looked back since.

Apparently not! I once attended this seminar where an established freelancer was taking people through the steps of carving a successful career online. I looked through the room and half of the attendants were probably in their late 20s or early 30s. That tells you that you can become anything you want, irrespective of your year of birth.

Who knows how I learned this trade? Probably I just picked it up like some baby learns a new language. Anyhow, I do know where it all started, though. It was around 2000 and there was this guy at church and he was helping me with this "in a box" shopping website that I bought. Anyway, he gave me the foundation and sparked my interest. Note, the next step involved me making some amateur websites on free hosting and eventually, around 2008, I got into link exchanges.

I think I got into this because I had lack of money. If I were to have money through some other means, I'd have never got myself into this sort of computing. I think I am starting to like this. And this in turn can be a good option for me to make money. Apart from that I took a lot of tangents. And this can be a good option for me for further career.

This is true indeed, you need to develop certain amount of interest and desire as well. Everything related to internet, business, marketing, researching and whatnot I have found out on my own mostly. Google is your friend :) And google offers you more friends :)
