What external HD size do you prefer?

I have an external hard drive that's 1TB in size. My friends keep wondering why I went for this and the question always is when all that space will eventually fill up? People tend to be more comfortable with the 500GB size. There's not much difference in price, or is there?

I have a hard disk whose size is 500GB and I only bought this because there was an offer for them. I would always go for one with a higher capacity if there was a choice.
