Startup smartly invests in great domain name.

A startup has purchased the domain name Jumprope.com for $200,000.

The startup is headed by Jake Poses, who was previously VP of Product at Thumbtack. Prior to that, he was with Bain Capital.

Jakob Knightly brokered the transaction.

The domain name was previously used for a store that sold jump ropes. As of right now the domain forwards to KangaRope.com, the name that the seller now uses for its business.

Jumprope.com is an example of a great positive-connotation domain name that can be branded for many businesses. In fact, there’s an existing education company that uses the brand name Jumprope…and the domain hack jumpro.pe. Ouch.
