The new weekly domain sales Report is out at DNJournal.com. As you know 3-letter .coms have been on a tear this year. Two more made our all extension Top 20 Sales Chart this week as brevity remained very highly valued. A dozen names on the Big Board ranged from just two to four characters to the left of the dot. One of those went for six figures as did a second name that was a bit longer. We also saw the biggest .net sale reported so far this year. You can get all of the details here: http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/2015/20150603.htm
Thanks for the heads up on this Jeff - I went back to the seller who has been a reliable source in the past and learned he did indeed report these sales prematurely. The buyer reneged. I will be removing them from the report. This is why we ask people not to report sales until the domains have been fully paid for and transferred. Auctions results are not sales due to the high incidence of deadbeat bidders. We normally will check whois records to make sure this happened but due to the high volume of sales reported sometimes do not if the reports come from reliable sources who have checked out many times over the years.
