Public Interest Registry, the nonprofit operator of the .org domain, today opened the call for nominations to identify seven new members to serve on the .org Advisory Council.

Today through June 5, 2015, individuals may submit nominations – including self-nominations – detailing the applicant’s experience in leading a noncommercial organization, commitment to promoting the noncommercial use of the Internet and desire to ensure .org remains the domain of choice for any person, corporation or organisation to share their causes, passions and ideas.

Brian Cute, CEO of Public Interest Registry is quoted as saying:

“Since its inception in 2008, the .org Advisory Council has been instrumental to the success of the .org domain, which has experienced year over year growth and now boasts more than 10.5 million registrants worldwide, as the internet continues to expand, we invite leaders in the noncommercial sector to join the .org Advisory Council and help .org continue to be the online home for those who serve the public interest.”
