.OOO recently ran a complete full, front page advertisement in The Times of India newspaper.
The company behind the extension is Infibeam and the CEO has vision of completing 2 million domain name registrations by the end of the first year.
The company recently ran an ad which read:

"With this vision, we are now embarking on an ambitious mission that will redefine the digital world. Infibeam is launching a new domain - a first for any company in India - that stands for innovation, enterprise and world-class online infrastructure."

They are spending big bucks, but they will have to back it up with results rather than just lies and predictions.

Mainstream advertising by newgTLDs in India is new. It is a welcome move as it creates awareness and helps netizens select a top level domain that represents their brand.

They are showing around 34,000 registrations.

However, 30,000 are registry reserved and premium names.

In addition it appears that PDR have taken 2800+ "registrations" in the last couple of days?

Actual registrations seem to be only around a few hundred.

Around 100 of those registrations are currently at Dynadot but blocked by the registry.

I could be wrong, perhaps someone from the registry could comment?
