nTLDs on Auction during NamesCon 2015

IT.com
Wine.CLUB hits a record 140K highest ever in nTLD sales and CarAuctions.com sells for 90K - two notables so far

The last Live Auction item ePeso.com - was a steal IMO, sold at $2500

All done now wait for Pundits to analyze the stats and comment. My takeaway, overall a successful live domain auction in terms of sales versus list

  1. Reserves too high on some premium dot COMs?
  2. Highest sale during Live Auction Wine.CLUB at 140K
  3. Terrible show by most nTLDs selling below $500 even (xyz, global , vegas, nyc)
  4. CLUB the nTLD winner by miles(Wine, Birthday, Tequila, Weed, Fight, Fans sold, no takers for Advertising and Chess given reserves)
  5. COM still king - Notable high sale CarAuction.com at 90K

Live auction results where 87 out of the 134 lots sold

But why should nTLD domains sell well? They dont have any serious fundamentals backing them up. Donny even said on NP they dont really get traffic!

Most of the nTLD sales are vanity sales/outlier end users who want to use them instead of convetional extensions.

For me its ccTLDs over nTLDs any day!!!

LLL - OMG, I wish I had that Whatsapp emoticon here

ccTLD vs nTLD ? I feel like going back in time, simple Google treats nTLD like any gTLD, Where as those majority ccTLDs who are not in the gccTLD list get local search treatment by Google, Worse even for dot IN with a history of SPAM usage in mid-late 2000 and poor Governance issues - way way back in the back burner.
