I very much agree with this passage: "Naturally, such a development would immediately devalue the millions of .co.uk domains held by British businesses and individuals who would need to try to acquire the .uk version to protect their online identities."
I wouldn't be happy at all if I were a long-time .co.uk domainer. Fortunately we won't have the same issues with .in/.co.in
