Here is a list of startups that have recently been funded.
Check out the domain names that they are using for their business and how the owner of exact match .COM name is going to benefit from it.

While there are some startups such as Hello which uses HelloChat.co, Ledger uses Ledger.co, HakkaLabs, SpringLeapNewCo, Sunshine, Parent Co which are using .CO extension for their startups because they were not lucky enough to find the .COM version, there are others who are using the ccTLDs such as Klip.in, Avari.io, equol.ca, EveMattress.co.uk, Howler.at and Jobado.nl.

.CO which is a cctld but is given high status, is being preferred by most of the startups if they don't find the .com available.
