NEW DELHI: The National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) that manages IN Registry, a nodal body mandated with the registration and operation of dot In domain names, expects to register 2.5 million dot In domain names by 2015.
In late 2004, the government had empowered IN Registry. It accredits registrars to carry out registrations through an open process that also includes the National Informatics Centre (NIC) as the registrar for gov.in domains.
"We are hoping to register 2.5 million dot In domain names by 2015," NIXI chief executive Dr Govind told ET.
