IT industry body Nasscom has welcomed the guidelines on allowing 100% FDI in ecommerce marketplaces but has said that some of the clauses in the new mandate could be restrictive. In a statement, Nasscom said that this (guidelines) is a clear indication, that the government identifies marketplaces as an electronic intermediary, operating a technology platform to facilitate sales and transactions between independent third party sellers and buyers.
