What do you guys think of .Mobi extenstion? Any input will be great?

I don't see the appeal in .mobi. People don't "need" .mobi. Websites can be setup to automatically detect if someone is accessing the site via a mobile and, if so, produce a mobile-friendly version of that website.

For your info, earlier this year I posted some .mobi stats, which showed that .mobi registrations were going down:

Jan - 866,770
Feb - 846,994
Mar - 841,092
Apr - 840,581

The all-time high for .mobi appears to be October 2008 at 956,412.

I just checked the current stats for .mobi and they are as follows:

May - 836,355
June - 838,871
July - 841,571
Aug - 844,687
Sept - 854,594 (Sept not yet finished)

What do other members think of .mobi? Please share your views.
