Looking at the last three years of NamesCon live auction sales totals shows a slight bump in domain prices from last year. Even without 2018’s leading sale, Great.com, which sold for $900,000.00, the numbers still look pretty decent. Below are the last three years of domain name sales from the live auction results, according to NameBio.com. Along with those sales and sales prices is the average sale price without each auctions top performing domain for that year.

  • Total sales for 2018 (77 sales) were $1,578,350.00. Even without its top player (Great.com), the average sale was ($8,926.00). [69% were .com sales]
  • Total sales for 2017 (130 sales) were $1,242,419.00. Without its top player (Single.com), the average sale was ($7,383.00). [63% were .com sales]
  • Total sales for 2016 (100 sales) were $1,533,579.00. Without its top player (Lawn.com), the average sale was ($13,066.00). [56% were .com sales]

Impressive how they manage to get one top name sale each year that boosts the figures.

Three years ago the big push was on ngltd hence the relatively low .com percentage. Ngltd are now just also rans and folding like a bad poker hand.
