Is there a way to both market your website and bring in revenue to said website at the same time?

I would say so. I think your best bet would be to use email marketing to make money while you're building up and marketing your site. You can just use a squeeze page, and then send free traffic to that squeeze page in order to capture emails and then send them newsletters recommending stuff in your niche.
