and while I have many .INs listed in the extended auction I'm excited and honored that I made it into the auction proper with iCricket.co.in with a 500.00 reserve. Besides that I think the biggest surprise on the list was Euros.info with a 3000 dollar reserve.

My personal biggest surprise was that none of my .co.in submissions, and some other good cctld, made the list.

Anyway- good luck to all that have names in there.

Had a closer look, not very good at all- .cm- as op says wtf is that doing in there for a euro event? The .tv's are way overpriced.

.ph, whoa- there are some great keywords available to reg but there is basically no market.

FreePorn.co.uk , Porno.co.uk - good names but very high reserves. My Porn.co.in was rejected btw- with a MUCH lower reserve.

Star of the show NL .com for the Netherlands- but again I think way too pricey.

Hope I am wrong.

Okay, I confess I had no idea what .cm stood for and had to look it up :D. .cm is the ccTLD for Cameroon. Does anyone know much about .cm?

BTW, congrats Jeff on getting Barbecues.us listed in the auction.

.com typos

.cm is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Cameroon.
In August 2006, it was reported that the .cm registry had set up a wildcard DNS record (with the help of a domain broker), so that all unregistered domains in this top-level domain go to a parking page with paid search links. This was likely intended to take advantage of typographical errors by users attempting to reach .com web sites. [1]
The wildcard DNS record in fact comprises three entries[2]:

  • .cm 900 TXT "v=spf1 -all"
  • .cm 900 TXT "v=spf2.0/pra -all"
  • .cm 900 A 72.51.27.58
The first two relate to sender policy framework, although the second is of questionable validity, and mark the wildcarded domains as not originating any email at all. The third causes any non-existent name under .cm to resolve to a search page.

Let's hope the barbecue is on Jeff ;)

Thanks wot, that's interesting stuff! Is the .cm wildcard still happening in 2009?

It doesn't look like it - you can just type in some random .cm domains and they do not forward anywhere.

...And Kevin Ham made some big bank off of that - it was his parking page that the traffic was forwarded to.

the wildcard still works, just certain countries will not be forwarded to agoga.com, as yahoo does not monetize the traffic from all countries

Strange... does anyone know where to do a whois lookup of .cm domains?

.CM domains do seems to get some typo traffic - e.g. golf.cm has an Alexa of 14,118,950.

There is no whois server yet for .cm.

yes, they have traffic: look at the traffic rank of agoga.com -> wildcard traffic of .cm or check for example ask.cm alexa ranking.

I just typed Microsoft.cm into my browser and got a parked page, together with this message:

This domain has been parked. This page provided as a courtesy to avoid DNS Not Found Errors

There are two other .in domains besides iCricket.co.in - LawSchools.in and IDN.in
