I came across a list that promotes the top 25 most promising internet companies.
bigadda.com - no
bolohealth.com - no
concerninfotech.com - no
ethniconlinenetwork.com - no (eon.in be a good acquisition)
foodiebay.com - yes, both .in and .co.in forward to .com
futuretechnocrafts.com - yes, .in under construction, .co.in doesn't resolve
galatta.com - no
ijiny.com - no
indiamart.com - yes, .co.in forwards to .com, .in doesn't resolve
injoos.com - yes, .in forwards to .com, .co.in doesn't resolve
40% of these companies own the .in equivalent (again, I just looked at the first 10 companies on the list, not all 25).
I took a look at the first 10 companies only. The 10 domains are all .com's and I was curious to learn if the companies either used or owned the .IN equivalent of their domain. Here are the results:Initially, most sites targeted the global Indians who had more access to the Internet, but nowadays many local Internet businesses have come up targeting users in India as well driving the E-commerce, social networking and more.
