Google has released Zeitgeist 2008 India, which lists the most popular and fastest rising search queries for 2008. Also included in the list are the top ten queries in Hindi and Tamil.
Here are a couple of observations by Google India Blog:
(1) Social networking sites are continuing to thrive in the search queries.
I'm not surprised. Many people love social networking. Everywhere I look on the net, social networking is being implemented or mentioned. We also see many articles advising you how you can use marketing and SEO strategies via social networks.
(2) The search patterns between desktop searches and mobile phone searches reveal that people are using the mobile to work, then using the internet when they reach work, and on the way back home they use the mobile again.
This shows we can't live without the internet.
