There were two big and significant announcements by ICANN:
1) ICANN is seeking to hire its first ever Registrant Service Director-Consumer Advocate. The selected individual will become the Registrant Community advocate within ICANN and represent their needs to other teams across the organizations.
2) ICANN's GNSO is looking for volunteers for the just launched GNSO new gTLDs subsequent rounds discussion group. This group will review the first round of new gTLDs and report findings to the GNSO Council that may lead to changes or adjustments for the subsequent new gTLD application procedures.
