I thought that this article was really interesting:

http://domainnamewire.com/2016/05/27/club-unprecedented-look-new-tlds-financials/

It looks like .club lost over $1 million dollars last year, and only hopes to break even this year.

.Club generated $7.0 million last year on a bookings basis. $4.5 million of this was from registrations and the other $2.5 million from premium sales.

The company spent over $8 million last year, resulting in a loss (on a bookings basis) of $1.1 million.

The company spent a lot of money to make.Club a success and only have lost money so far. That doesn't sound too encouraging at all, but at least they have some feasible expectations with this domain during this year instead of praying for a miracle. Is really noteworthy to understand what it takes to make a new TLD model work. Hope they do well in the next years.
