Green Hosting

Do you feel that green environmental hosting is worth the extra price? Do you feel their efforts are really making a difference in pollution? Can it be truly shown they are using environmental methods to generate their hosting? Finally, should people feel guilty if they don't use it?

To be honest, I have never heard of Green Environmental hosting until today. I do not see how you can prove without a shadow of a doubt that they are using 100% renewable energy. It's kind of like Organic Farming and organic products advertised. The claim is only as good as the integrity of the company making the claim. To prove you would have to work there or watch 24/7. Personally I do not trust most companies and corporations anymore. Who would have though VW would have faked test results. I do not feel guilty for not using them but if it makes anyone else feel better, then you should use them.
