Google seems to have learned from their mistakes in China.

Its looking to help Indian businesses grow organically to meet Indian needs rather than pushing in to the country with a western attitude.

This can only help promote .in & co.in domains! Great news & article. This is the "IN" place to learn!

Thanks for posting the link. I liked the article. Google can see the potential India offers. Its a win-win situation anyways. In any case, users benefit from it. :)

Nice find. Google is smart and as jigyasa said, it's a win-win situation. Both parties benefit, and as always, Google is thinking outside the box. :) I'm curious to see how this plays out however. Again, nice article :)

Cheers,
Michael

Google will do well in India. Can't do worse than Softbank (a Yahoo funder) or Microsoft-which were both too greedy up front and didn't understand the markets or the people. Microsoft has forgotten how to compete. When Softbank pulled back, a lot of people were left hanging (unpaid).

It's good to hear that Google is going to take some of their investments into India. That will potentially increase the value of .in domain names as they will most likely become more popular than they are today after Google has come into the mix more. :)
