What’s next for Google’s .brand domain name .google? It will likely be stories.google.
The company registered the stories.google domain name under its .brand domain earlier this week. I’m not aware of any Google site or service called stories, and neither stories.google or google.com/stories resolve.
While the stories.google domain name doesn’t lead to a website yet, the registration is a sure sign that it plans to do something with it. It might be a while, though. Google registered domains.google on October 1 last year and started using it in March of this year.
New top level domain name registries are banking on companies starting to use their .brand domain names to raise awareness for new domain name choices.
