I disagree, a domain name that doesn't match your business is not necessarily unsuitable. You can come out with something catchy and easy to remember.

Related to domain name mistakes, I've heard several webmasters recommend against using dashes (and other symbols, generally). Aside from becoming a potential spelling mistake (visitors may forget to add the dash to the domain, thus decreasing website traffic), they said it's also bad for SEO.
