Domain names make great investments. The reasons behind many domain transactions can be complex, but the investment payoff is simple: Internet space is very limited and highly sought after in the digital age. Since speculation began more than 20 years ago, domains have remained hot commodities for investors and 2015 posted some all time high appreciation sales as illustrated by Vodafone’s sale of 360.com for $17 million to Beijing-based Qihoo 360 in China, Porno.com for almost $8.9 million, and dozens of other large transactions. Even the much smaller transactions that take place on a daily basis give many domain investors a ROI others can only dream of.
