Six Figure .Com Stands Out in the Otherwise Slow Week We Expected for Domain Sales

As I mentioned last week, we were expecting aftermarket domain sales to be slow this week because many offices in China were closed all of last week for the Chinese New Year. With the normally busy domain buyers there joining in the celebration sales activity was bound to fall off - and it did. If you look at our latest all extension Top 20 Sales Chart below, you will see an almost complete absence of the kinds of high end domains Chinese buyers prefer (predominantly ultra-short .com acronym and numeric domains).

With buyers back on the job this week, it will be very interesting to see what kind of results we will have to report next week. Some have been predicting the frenetic buying pace in the Far East will slow down soon while others think the the boom we've seen in recent months is just the beginning.
