The Rosetta Stone is a granite stele found in 1799, inscribed in hieroglyphic script, Demotic and ancient Greek. It proved to be the key to deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphs, opening a window to Egypt’s civilization, history and heritage.

Rosetta Stone is also a brand and a trademark, for a company specializing in language translation software.

That trademark reference led to a UDRP for the domain name, RosettaStone.app. The Respondent is a British expatriate, who asserted that the British Museum’s hosting of the stele motivated his registration of the domain.
