Chinese domain market sales

Chinese domain market sales have been following a downwards curve for many months now. Savvy domain investors, such as Tim Schoon, successfully sold their assets early on.

Despite the constant hyping, “Chips” prices fell below $1400, more than $1000 below their peak in 2015.

Will that peak ever get reached again?

Doubtful, but don’t discount the plans of the Hong Kong fund that started the game of “Chips” several moons ago.

Well, the speculation has ended and I guess the chips won't rise again for long.

What do you think?

As far as .IN domain name sales are concern, we can see a regular purchase from Chinese investor , recently one of our customer sold five regular .IN domain names (not LLL or NNN) in single transaction of USD 9000 to china based investor , According to us it was sold on higher side. So China based investors are buying but choosing the names.

Chinese investors are certainly discussing .in domains:

and traffic to this forum from China is increasing.
Thanks for your input on this Jeff.

But it makes common sense though....who else knows the opportunities in a big country if not another big country? China is also slowing more than India, so even more reasons why they will "look" across their border for more biz opportunities.

China is into domains and wont pull out.

Every non changing market will eventually face stagnation or a profit decline. And "Chips" market downfall is not an exception and I also think that chips won't rise again for a while, maybe mostly due to the deceleration of China impressive growth rythm.

Not just domains, but all areas of business:

India woos Chinese investors, promises conducive environment:

India on Wednesday promised a conducive environment for Chinese investors and urged them to participate in ‘Make in India’ and other flagship programmes of the government to boost bilateral trade.

“We will facilitate your efforts to make your investments in India profitable. We must take advantage of the opportunities that abound in the growth of both our economies,” said President Pranab Mukherjee addressing a meeting of the India-China Business Forum here on the second day of his four-day visit to China.
