Bulk domain purchasing

Is it much better and/or cheaper in the end to buy several domains in bulk rather than a few at a time? I tend to think that this is more applicable to people that are in the business of buying and selling or those that buy and park these domains.

I think you get a discount if you register more extensions with the same domain name. You can find discounts on auctions where the seller has listed some of the domains in their portfolio. Have you ever bid on a group? A lot of times it seems that the owner is just offloading domains they've been unable to sell one by one. I've seen some great finds on here though.

I've never thought of registering the same domain name with different extensions neither have I ever bid on a group before. Thanks for the heads up; it is possible to get a good deal through a this offloading of domains.
