I've just been reading about the recent release of @Box by Ichip Technologies, a company based in Hyderabad, India.
The @Box is a low-cost alternative to owing a PC. The device allows you to access the internet via a TV or a projector. The device is bundled with Firefox, a keyboard and other accessories.
I think this new device will be particularly useful in rural India, where internet penetration is still very low. I don't know if it's the first product of its kind in the IT world, but it sure sounds very cool.
