The Mumbai terrorists used Google earth, so there is now an attempt to ban Google Earth in India.

Absolutely ridiculous IMHO - I hear the terrorists used mobile phones - perhaps they should be banned to.

A petition entered at the Bombay High Court alleges that the Google Earth service, "aids terrorists in plotting attacks". Advocate Amit Karkhanis has urged the court to direct Google to blur images of sensitive areas in the country until the case is decided.

It is ridiculous, the administration should beef up the security setup of the country and plug all the loopholes. Google Earth contains info about the whole world then why just India being targeted?

I don't think that they will be able to ban it but their request does make some sense. Google Earth allows people see all areas even those which are supposed to be kept secret due to national security.
