auDA, the organization that manages Australia’s country code top level domain .au, reports there were more than 716,000 second level domain registrations last year.
The group opened up second level domain registrations on March 24 last year. There was a priority period for registrants of matching domains in third level domains, which is all consumers could register prior to the new initiative.
