Domain Name Rights Coalition“, a new organization protecting the rights of domain name registrants was founded.

The organization says it is “dedicated to protecting the rights of Internet Domain Name Registrants and fight for fair and balanced Internet policies. All should have equal rights to register domain names, the great signs of Internet speech, including small businesses, entrepreneurs, individuals and organizations, in every country of the world, now and in the future.”

Kathy Kleiman is the Co-Founder and President of the organization. She is an attorney that specializes in helping to provide fair and balanced policies for the more than 140 million domain name registrants, including traditionally underrepresented individuals, noncommercial organizations, entrepreneurs and small businesses. At NamesCon 2018, Kathy received the Internet Commerce Association’s Lonnie Borck Memorial Award “in recognition of your extraordinary efforts in championing the rights of domain name registrants.”

Michael Karanicolas is the Director of Policy.

This is what DNRC does:

“The Domain Name Rights Coalition is the first think tank dedicated to supporting the work of the ICANN Community and representatives of domain name holders (Registrants). We are experts in Internet Governance who work tirelessly to help the Internet find fair, balanced and principled rules at the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and around the world. The next billion Internet users deserve nothing less!”

DNRC dedicates its energies to fighting for:

  • Balanced Leadership in Internet Multistakeholder Models
  • Timely Bridge-Building with Government Officials and Other Organizations
  • Registrant Education
  • Think Tank Research and White Paper Development
