4 reasons domain development fails after successful domain parking

Unfortunately, too many domainers enter into web development with the same mind set as they did with domain parking:

1. NOT UPDATING ENOUGH
The ‘set it and forget it‘ mentality won’t work with development. Adding original content on a regular basis attracts readers which attract eyeballs which attract sales. There is no way around that.

Letting your site sit around to collect dust steers visitors away, decreases social shares and slowly knocks your site off SEO rankings.

2. UNDER BUDGETING A WEBSITE
Development is a time suck. It will suck your resources. It will suck your mind. It requires time to stew just like a great pot of soup. It also requires investment. If you take the time to build a business plan and crunch the numbers you will get an estimated range of what you should be spending on development.

3. EXPECTING TOO MUCH TOO SOON
Earning revenue through development can take awhile. Again, you have to think with a long term frame of mind and not short term. With domain parking you can see the traffic and revenue almost right away. This is usually not true for development. This can take many weeks even months depending on how often you add value to the site and what kind of marketing you do.

4. LACK OF DIRECTION
Jumping into web development not only is a big mistake but wastes money. You can’t throw up a page based on ideas and fly by the seat of your pants. Ideas don’t mean anything. Numbers do. Potential is a crappy concept to base value on. Knowing your visitors and delivering what they are looking for is a great concept to base value on.
