    Continuous optimization

Isn't it easier just to focus on good quality content and site layout and not worry about tuning it to match Google as it changes? If the site's content is solid, won't it keep its ranking? I've never had a problem.

    Releasing an app?

I didn't bother. There are loads of wordpress plugins to turn sites into apps, so its something I could do quickly if I wanted, but I like people going straight to my site.

    A reciprocal link

Reciprocal links can be used anywhere cos it's just cross- site advertising. There are hundreds of links sites or search engines that don't take your site unless you put a link on your site for them. I've heard Google doesn't like it much and doesn't count them as backlinks.

    Marketing yourself.

I do all my marketing myself 'cos it's cheaper! My site's providing an OK income and has good daily traffic. A freelancer might have done better, but there wasn't any cash to hire one.

    Older Hosting Sites

For me, it's always wordpress.com out of the three. It has all the add-ons and plugins, and lots of free premade themes. I never got on with tumblr, but they are better about having ads on them. They are free, so why not try them and see what works for you?

How often to send marketing emails?

I've kind of got my mailing list together and my site's doing OK on traffic and sign ups, but how do I turn the list into money? How often can I send marketing emails and what sort of content works? Should I keep it as an article or just make it an advert to buy something I've discussed on the site?

    Infolinks?

What kind of income can Infolinks provide? I've seen it on a few sites, but those green lines always put me off reading the article. If if pays a bunch though, I'd like to add it to my site. Does it put people off more than it makes money?

    Older Hosting Sites

if you're looking for something free that builds the site for you like blogger, then there's wordpress.com or wix or weebly or tumblr. They'll provide the hosting and you can point a domain at it and put ads on some of them.

    Best Affiliate Marketing Sites

Amazon.in are good with a lot of products. I make some money through that. Doesn't GoDaddy only allow you to sell GoDaddy's services through their scheme? That's a bit limited for a large site.

    Fiverr

I've bought stuff on there, like some filler articles written from there when I was short on content, and its OK for custom illustration. Always check the sellers reviews, 'cos you get what you pay for.

    Blogger vs. WordPress

Blogger's always hosted by Google so its free and they don't mind ads on the blog. If you're using wordpress.com and not hosting it yourself, they don't like adverts on the site much so your income can be really limited.

When to sell a domain on?

My sites have been running for a while and have an OK level of income. I'm wondering about selling them to get funds for something bigger. When is the best time to sell a site, while it is still growing, or do I have to wait until it is huge?

    Best sites for video?

Youtube slashed their ad revenue for videos in February. There are people moving to vid.me instead to try and make more income. Having a large audience doesn't help if the videos don't make any money.

    More revenue from domains

I set up small sites to promote my actual sites that I was working on. Articles and redirects and backlinks can really help search rankings. Letting people sign up for my emails through it worked really well.

Which do you prefer: video or text tutorials?

I prefer text. It is so much easier to jump around or go back to something when I have a problem. Also I can print it out and scrawl on it if I need to.

    Privacy and data collection

Most places like double opt-in, so you ask them to sign up on your site, then they get an email asking them to confirm sign up and then you're free to contact them. Mailchimp handles this for you, which makes it easy.

    Is Google Adsense worth it

Have you got confused between Adsense and Adwords? Adsense pays you because you show their ads on your site, and they pay you for people clicking on them. You don't pay to use them. The question is if it produces enough income.

    Is Google Adsense worth it

Adsense is really easy to use, but I thought once blogs got to a certain size they moved away from Adsense to the bigger networks with better pay? I'm nowhere near the traffic for things like Exponential but they are out there. Why aren't they used more?

    Going it alone

I think you need two, just to have someone to bounce ideas off and cover things when you are sick. I guess you could have a single founder if they already had the money to hire people to work for them at the start so they had someone to do that with.

    Getting a domain back?

The hosting company for a website I built a few years back went bankrupt and I got my domain sold out from under me (the bankruptcy people took the lot as 'assets' from the hosting company. Grrr.). Is there any way to get it back? It's more an academic thing at this point, but the people who now...
