    The Pricing/Valuation Of It All

I love your last illustration @JackD about the domain that was eventually sold for $3000 or thereabouts. Could we then add that in addition to what a buyer is willing to pay, how much a seller is willing to sell a domain at still matters? If, as a seller, I feel that whatever price a prospect...

    What is driving low bids?

I get the drift here but do you suppose that it is easy to purchase a domain for such a low price, revamp it, then look to sell it a profit? Time and again, the market has proved that this is easier said than done.

Biggest threat to an online business

What I gather here is that prospective customers can easily believe a fictitious customer who claims to have been treated badly. Why is it so easy for people to believe these 'fraudulent' customers? Are we coming from a place where other businesses have set a bad example and destroyed the trust...

    On-page SEO

The fact of the matter is that most people seemingly pay more attention to the on-page SEO and give little attention to off-page SEO. For instance, people hardly realize the power that effective social marketing has.You raise a good point @Foroux. I am equally curious to know what measures...

    On-page SEO

From what I've gathered from the article, off-page SEO is as equally important as its on-page counterpart. Every time this is mentioned, backlinks immediately come to mind. I think this is the most popular method. I would also vouch for social media marketing.

    A One Page Site

I agree with you @Anayaa because I am wondering why a business would insist on a 'one-page' site, if it had every other resource at its disposal. In the past, I have never taken such sites seriously.

Google Searches Now Focus on Your Actual Location, Not the ccTLD in Your Search

I have always thought that this was the case? Correct me if I'm wrong but would you get different search results by say, using a VPN? If possible, I think it would be better if this was optional, that is, a user being able to alter this is the 'settings' section.

    Domain shadowing

I must admit that I have never quite understood what this is all about but as far as I know, it involves stealing consumer traffic from an existing, trustworthy registered domain. Can a business always seek legal redress and in any case, is it ever easy to nab the perpetrators?

    Copying and pasting

Exactly my point @JackD. We all agree that at times, it isn't easy to write some things from scratch so even when replication is being done, care has to be taken to ensure that everything remains relevant. There's nothing as bad as a prospective customer pointing out an error in the site.

Lessons from history - Pick Your Registrar Carefully

Speculation isn't always a good thing and as much as I haven't been in this industry for a long time, I agree with @Jeff that it would be a great idea to adopt a wait-and-see approach. We (definitely) wouldn't want to hear that any domains have been lost.

    Copying and pasting

I have had a look at most websites and elements like the Terms of Use and Privacy Statement almost look the same. I tend to think that most businesses merely copy this from other websites and replicate this on their websites. There's need to ensure that everything on the website goes hand in...

    Putting Stock In It

8.9 million new registrations in the quarter is no mean fete. Also, $292 million is quite an amount and I agree that this is the place any serious investor should start looking at. @Tigger, how much would consider putting in so as to have good returns?

    Online forex trading

The common narrative out there is that you don't really need to know much before getting started; understanding the basics is enough. A lot of people start off with a demo account that doesn't involve real currency. I'm also curious to know the risks involved.

    What to consider before investing

I don't know if this is possible but I wish there was a simpler way of this information being passed across. Most of the people I have spoken to either have a hard time explaining or do so in the most complex way. Does it get easier once someone has gotten started?

    Automatic content?

I had only heard of RSS feeds as the common medium of directing traffic to your site. Well, I would look at content automation as one way of proactively planning for the future. The only danger I see with this method is the inability (sometimes) to immediately respond to people commenting on the...

    Videos on your website

What do you guys think of this method as a way of enhancing performance? I am one of those people that are likely to click on a video rather than read something on a site. Are videos also likely to slow down your site?

    Duplicated page content

I have previously heard that replicating page content on a single website domain, could potentially lead to over-optimization. If I’m not mistaken, search engine crawls could potentially to red flags being raised and penalties too. What other ways could lead to over-optimization?

    Interconnected

I think this is a good idea but would there be any need to fully optimize a website so as to be able to handle all that traffic? It would be sad to have such a website and still have unresponsiveness.

    Domain growth in India

India is fast emerging as a nation with accelerated growth in digital economy. What else can you expect from a nation with more than 300 million mobile subscribers? I'd like to understand the effect that demonetization has on the whole domain business?

    SEO tools

Just the other day, I was going through an article that mentioned that it takes hard work and diligence to get your page up there, in terms of ranking. Unfortunately, most people are never willing to go all the way. Speaking of which, who's heard of/used the SE ranking tool? It's basically a...
