.ORG more popular than .IN ??

The US is only representative of a small fraction of the online market today, about 80%+ internet users are from other countries afaik. And a lot of foreign users like .in - it's used extensively in BeNeLux, Germany, Switzerland, Vietnam, Japan, Korea and even in the USA (Exclusively.in /...

    Opinions on Facebook IPO

Overpriced and undervalued. See what happened to Zynga and Groupon to know what will happen here. I see the price going to $50 short term and then tanking to $20 or so, a far cry from the $38 launch.

.ORG more popular than .IN ??

You guess wrong, I'm saying you'll find a LOT of .in being advertised on TV, so anyone who pleads ignorance of .in while acclaiming .com either doesn't watch tv or doesn't understand the internet. That's basically because for the first 8 years of the Indian Internet scene, there was no .in...

.ORG more popular than .IN ??

This thread is a waste of time, I'd start picking the holes in your theories but then... Switch on the television (I assume you live in India) and read the domains being advertised, you'll see at least 1 .in for every .com, if not more and NO .org domains, aside from in PIR ads or BigRock ads...

Complete List of Indian Domain Name Sales

Hike .in is a flagship sale. Such sales define market price once they make it into the sales comp data. Who buys the domain is irrelevant, as does how much money he / they have. Companies routinely spend $250,000 on small city specific marketing campaigns. From my perspective, having been in...

    We're back!

This skin is a HUGE improvement over the previous one. Guess the software would have been updated too. So something positive comes out of the hack attempt, so all good!

Any One going to apply for new gTLD?

Read your own quote. "In order to qualify for the fee reduction, applicants must demonstrate financial need, provide a public interest benefit, and possess the necessary management and financial capabilities." Necessary management and financial capabilities themselves account for $10 million...

Any One going to apply for new gTLD?

Assuming your string doesn't have any competition, you're looking at a $500k startup. Just ICANN fees are $5k+$185k, where do you get the $47k figure from? Unless your company is worth $100mm+ aiming for a $1Bn valuation, I'd recommend you stay out of this game.

    Sarees.biz

95% of the sales I see on flippa leave me bewildered. Both from the sellers and the buyers perspective. But then I've never sold a 2 yr old site for $160k, what do I know. Sarees is a decent keyword, the .biz is a gtld, if not the strongest. So there is value in the domain, though probably not...

    Definition of a Domainer

I know this thread is old, but anyone discover any other 'type' of domain investor? Would be real interesting to know. @PeopleNet I think all of us do have a background in collectibles of one sort or another for sure.

    Domainers Around Hyderabad - Meetings

This would be interesting to see in action. Not sure how workable it would be, I've seen some of the domain buying consortiums and not all of them work. Good to hear about the bulk sale, look forward to details. :)

    Domainers Around Hyderabad - Meetings

Could you guys share what was said about the 9 topics that are mentioned? Congrats btw, we tried to organise a couple of meets in Mumbai but they fizzled out due to very few participants, maybe soon though. As for Sanjeev not talking about Mitsu, I'm not surprised, he doesn't really need to...

How BIG is the LLL.in market??/

$160k approx is the primary market renewals per year. I doubt if sales are above that, though it's difficult to quantify given that there are a lot of unreported sales. If I was to hazard a guess I'd say below $160k/yr for now.

    LLLL.in

LLLLs which are dictionary words are worth more than random 'all premium' llls, at least imho. Random LLLLs or even CVCV type LLLLs have a long way to go for decent returns. Though if you've been watching the CVCV.in registrations, most of the good ones are almost gone.

    इनश्योरेंस.com (Insurance written in Hindi)

Correct spelling btw - इन्शुरन्स And yeah, बीमा would be better for Hindi IDN. Transliteration into devnagari doesn't make any sense tbh.
