Thanks for the link! I'm definitely bookmarking this one; I can see myself using it a lot in the future for seeing what I should be getting for adspace on my websites. Thanks again! :)
Interesting read thanks! I do agree with the Judge's decision, and it's good to see that the law is on the side of companies and registrants, and not the people trying to take traffic away from companies or use their names to make money.
That is really stupid. If the people in Kentucky, or wherever else for that matter, want to gamble illegally, that's their problem and they should be punished, not the people who own the domains. It truly is, as Jeff said, disturbing how the government can come in like this...
Wow...that's really...sad...
I must say that I've gotten similar emails, but they weren't for domains; I have gotten physical mail about moving over my domain names to another registrar for $30 more per year than I am already paying.
It is sad that someone will fall for it, and their whole...
Indeed, this will greatly relieve the stress (having backup ideas) when you find out that the first one or two ideas you had in mind are already taken. :p
Well you could try talking with the registrar, but it is unlikely that they will refund you unless they have a guarantee for something like this- otherwise, you could sell the domain to someone or just be stuck with it until it expires.
I've heard a few good things about the site Jessy mentioned (indomains.net), but I haven't used them personally. I am just starting my voyage into domain marketing research different from .com/.net/.org, so I haven't done any business with any .in registrars as of now.
I don't think that Hold 'Em is the most popular poker game in India, but I'd still think it'd be worth something. Perhaps somewhere between $50-$100? That sounds fair to me for the domain, but I don't think you'd be able to get much more than that.
As Jeff said, the LLL domains aren't doing too well right now -- I'd think that you'd be able to get maybe $40-$50 for each one if you found the right buyer, though.
I'd say that you could probably get $50-$100 for winmobile.in, $200-300 for indiahacks.com and hackindia.com, and maybe $150 for incric.com. I might be a little off, but those prices seem fair to me. Good luck selling them! :)
