I had to smile when reading this article on the BBC news website. Apparently, the Google voice search on iPhone doesn't understand British accents. Just as well I don't have an iPhone, as I now realize it wouldn't even understand me.
There are many other articles highlighting that this is happening with other accents.
Anyone used the iPhone in India with similar results?
Anyhow, if you do happen to use the iPhone's new Voice Search service, be sure to put on your very best North American accent as Google has indicated that this works the best.
My first search was for "next train, West Ealing to Paddington." It delivered me some useful information about "neck strain" - but no train times. "Barts and East London National Health Service trust" came out as "bulk terminal service trucks".

An Australian search for news returned the following results: movies, mutants, muse, and - with a Kiwi accent ? music.
