Can You Code?

I'm interested in seeing how many domainers on here can code. It seems like a significant number from what I've read. So, can you code? What computer language do you use? In your experience can someone build an internet business without coding skills of their own? I would love to hear more about your experience.

Well, quite a broad topic if you ask me. I can't code, not because I didn't want to but because I opted to take another career path. I don't think you really need coding skills to build an internet business since you can always hire someone to do that.

I actually learned a lot of my basic coding on forums. I'm not too advanced in my coding, but I do know some things and plan on learning more in the future.

I think that a lot of people know the basics, you know how to center text or put it in bold, italics, or underline it. There are many free resources online that offer information.

I don't know how to code, but I'd like to learn the skill.. There are so many free classes available that the opportunity is there, but I've tried learning Python three times from four different sites and couldn't get it straight. I might try a different coding language to see if it's easier.

Saki, I think it's amazing that you learned some coding on your own. Very impressive! Is there a certain forum or website that you've found particularly useful while learning?

Foroux, don't give up. It actually took me a while to catch on to the more complicated things and for a while I stopped attempting to, but once I started trying again, I started to get the hang of it.

Yup, I can code. I know and worked with C, C++, Java, C#, etc. as Programming Language and PHP, JS, CSS, HTML, etc. as Web Technology Scripting / Markup Language.

Hi, Your question was not for me. Still, I would like to suggest you to go to through the edx and W3Schools for basics to advanced. Coding you can learn by practice only. These are not the only sites, there are plenty of other resources and sites like TutorialsPoint, Udacity, Khan Academy, Corsera, Future Learn, etc. You can try which suits you best. Also join some sites like CodeChef, HackerRank, HackerEarth, etc to check your coding performance.
StackOverflow and Google will be your next best friends in your journey!

Thank you for the encouragement, Nishith and Mikhaela. I just need to keep at it.

Nishith, you sure have a broad skill set! That's impressive. Thanks for sharing those educational resources. I've tried learning Python on Udacity, edx, and Codeacademy, but didn't get very far. I'll likely try again with a different coding language next time.

I am also not very advanced in as far as coding goes but I agree that there are lots of resources out there. On the other hand, you don't really need coding skills to start or maintain a website.

That's true, marsh. Thankfully, there are plenty of templates, platforms, themes, and website builders to choose from that require nothing more than a few mouse clicks.
