How does one make sure there are no trademark infringements?

I'm sure that all the professionals posting on this site have a very good plan when checking the infringements on any given domain address they might buy or sell. As a fairly new person to this, I wondered if you would be willing to share some of your plan that helps you stay above board with all dealings. I want to listen to the best ideas.

Research. I know it may seem like an obvious answer, but you'd be surprised by how many people forget to research when buying and selling domains.

I check TM's at http://www.wipo.int/branddb/en/ Just type in the doman name (without spaces in the name, then again with spaces between the words). The results will be World Trademark registrations.
How do you feel about buying domains that include a misspelled word or just two transposed letters in order to capitalize off typing mistakes? With so many people using their smartphones to browse the internet, "accidents" seem like they'd be more lucrative now.

I personally would not do it but I also do not condemn others who do. There have been cases of companies coming after those who use names that are close or misspelled. For me there are plenty of good names available so it's just not worth the trouble.

Thank you all for the good information. I hope that one day I will be as good at this as you all appear to be. Information can't be exalted enough and this forum is great for all the pieces one needs to succeed. Again thanks for all the advice.

I would never go for such a domain name. Whereas I cannot castigate anyone that would this, I think it is careless, to say the least. It's really not worth the trouble at all.

For some domainers, it's their number one strategy for earning more money. It might be falling out of favor since domain parking isn't as lucrative now. I wouldn't try it either. Just the idea seems lame and I have no appetite for a potential lawsuit.

Trust me, it is just a matter of time. Whereas I cannot speak for everyone, experience comes naturally when the necessary effort is applied. As for what could go wrong when dealing with domains, I agree with @Saki that research is paramount. With all the resources available on the web, there is no excuse for failing to research.

How so? Is it owing to the fact misspelling a name could dupe a buyer into thinking it's a certain domain name? I also try to avoid law suits since they are a potential waste of time and money.
