Outsourcing website work

Is it a good idea to outsource the work to do with your site for instance, writing blog posts and creating videos? I have always heard that you should put your 'personality' into your articles and so on, so someone else's personality will be coming through to your readers if you outsource. What do you think about this?

Good question. In my experience it is best to farm out your content if the site it's going to be on is business in nature. There is little personality in business articles and if you want a little personal flavor in that content, just specify what kind to the writer you hire.

I suppose that is possible in that niche, but I was actually talking about the Life Coaching industry. I guess it would be pretty impossible to try and fake it there.

I agree with Swisslist. In a nutshell, you should run the show on your own and even in the event that you outsource, the idea should be that your interests are taken care of. The buck should actually stop at the website owner.

We're all agreed, then. It's best to do these things yourself. I guess you could outsource some of the more technical things when it comes to your website upkeep and marketing side of things.

I always tell business people that it is best to outsource a task if and only if there are certain benefits to be realized as a result. You don't want to outsource and then have reservations after the work is done. I'd consider outsourcing if there was too much work for me to handle on my own.

In the beginning it's best to do everything yourself so that you learn the ins and outs of your business, but as the business grows, then you can start outsourcing more and more work.

As long as the outsourcing company understands the personality you are trying to present, you should be in good hands. We roll out Websites soon, if you can wait for a bit - do give us a chance.
