Domains with repeating letters

I ran across this web page today, which has some interesting information:

http://gowebnames.com/p/rlsales

They've collected a lot of data about domain name sales that had repeating letters - in .com, gtlds, and cctls.

Some .in sales:

xxx.co.in - $651
ooo.in - $2006
jjj.in - $1800
sss.in - $1118
uuu.in - $1022
rrr.in - $788

Those prices show those sales are pre 2013-2015. Those names are easily 3-10 times those prices today. Cool info though!

xxx.co.in smells like OBVIOUS UNDERSELL. Short sightedness cuts our profits.

Anytime you can brand something easily, expect it to be huge. It isn't just repeating letters, gogogo could easily work, stopstopstop, etc. It's just about memorability - the uuu/xxx etc is just the most obvious one to people, but it runs way deeper. All you have to do is be more memorable than the competition.

For business with acronym one letter names these kind of domains are just neat. Think of someone just typing repeating letters as part of http portocol (aaa.com) or looking for them as search queries. Curious
