LLL.in stability

IT.com
Yep - I would say that at this rate we're seeing $30-$35 for premium names, and in some cases upto $60-$75. Non premium names are going for at least $20 if they mean something.

I would dare to say that we'll see a steady $50 mark for Premium LLL.ins within 3-4 months, and possibly 100$ within a year form now. When you look at the LLL.us prices which have been hovering around $100, I can't help to think that in the US, we use .com more often than not, but in every other country tthe ccTLD is used. In India ccTLDs have much wider usage than .com and when you consider that the US is 1/4th the size of India, we should see a stronger LLL.in market than the LLL.us market very quickly.

the problem is that the registry did not erase the .co.in

I wrote to them about it, I am waiting an answer.

Nice idea :)

They should really have started with just .in

Korea are realising they made the same mistake. Too late now however...

In the case of India, coexisting .co.in and .in is quite good for end users (and indirectly may be good for domainers too). The existence of this double system depresses speculator prices and makes good names more accessible to small business end users. If more locals routinely use their cctld, the more valuable our ultra-premium generics will be.

I do too think that its good for the market, but I also think that it creates confusion.

On the other hand, confusion will spur demand because if you own Loans.in, surely you will want to own Loans.co.in.

While the Locals are registering .co.in, us westerners will be grabbing the .in version, and in time, those local companies will be needing to secure their namespace.

And also Loansco.in as well - its likely to be a popular typo.

I think it was RJ from NamePros (or maybe RJ from DNJournal - one of the two ) who said that prices went really high when the end-user had no alternative available. Owning the .in and .co.in pair really does that.

I'm running another LLL.in scan and should have the results later today.

Most of the way done with the scan now.

Looks like it will show that LLL.in are around 2/3 gone.

Scan of the first 6000 LLL.in reveals that 1920 are left unregistered.

68% registered and 32% unregistered.

Thanks Johnny

Thats about 60% gone overall with 40% left - most of them in the lower end of the alphabet.

Thanks Johnny

17576 total means 36% are left.

I think thats about what the market will bear at the moment. We may see a slow reduction in that but I'm not sure a complete sellout will come in the next couple of years.

hi,
at 20.06.07 you say "jonnywj" there were 7214 available LLL.IN to register.
Now you say there are 6383 left.

thats round about 14 registrations per day and over 400 per month.

i think thats a positive development

bye Tomko

With the recent bid news about < $4 .IN domain registrations the remaining LLL.IN will be gone in the next month or so. I will register them all myself if necessary :)
There will be a lull in reselling premium letters while money is focused on the unregged LLL.IN but quality will prevail.
I have little doubt that many newly registered LLL will have intrinsic traffic - it is the nature of LLL.IN.
This provides new domainers an outstanding opportunity to get into the future of the game, only a little patience and maybe a year or so of regular renewal fees will pay dividends.
Good Luck to all.

Its almost like tasting at these prices...

Competely agree. Easy to buy 100 or 200 and if even one or two of those turn out to be good names with traffic, you've paid for them all.

I'm sure people will buy these in quantity, keep the gems and drop some next year.
