The last week was rather quite, this week turned out good. Also glad that RAP.IN finished higher than the initial bid.

Better than the $10.00 offers I get from time to time.

I agree with you, Indian market is still not ready for some good keyword names...They really dont understand the imp of good keyword domain..

by the way congrats for Birthday.co.in

Indian Market is a vast word. Infact , if we break it by industry , then only real-estate sector is where the domains run by keywords .

I dont know how many of you are aware but in India (specially north india), these days when a new project is launched, builder instead of selling straight to end-user does not get involved in this activity. Instead, they select a list of brokers and agents and give them a max quota raning from min to max range . So 20 lac price they can sell with a discount from 5% to 11% (not exact).

Now to market them, many of real-estate agents have made portals, small websites and marketting by SMS/newsletter. For 1 project, you will get atleast 10+ websites providing details of the project by respective agent.

I think i made it like a thesis, but then only this sector i can see using keyword domains in India and that too, each of these have a life till the project is complete or apartments/estate is sold / near possession..

as Indian market is not much exposed to affiliates and we still are reluctant to credit card / online txns , even if people txct, they do on well known sites.

Patience is the key. Most businesses don't understand how to use Keyword .com's even to improve their online presence, some are just beginning to find out. They all understand about registering their corporate name for their website but don't understand the strategy of using Killer generic domains that relate to their industry.

So I am not surprised about .in or .co.in and India, it will take time. Some businesses do understand it, but don't want to pay the price.

agree, it's not that they cannot pay, thing is .. they dont want to - with age old ideologies and brain-set. although the trend is changing, but may take more time..

internet ready tv are now in the market and may help a bit (a small fraction, not much)

akash ($35 tablet , cheapest in world) is getting launched.. (it willl help a large section, trust me)... let's forget illitrates and BLP...

mobiles are available from $15 with all features built...

so overall, i am optmisitic!
patience has a cost attached to it as well and many wil not be able to retain it, this is where the big indian cctlds sharks (as is ay them) come and grab them in dirt prices.

i will give example of a builder which is now a well established brand in north india , who runs 10-15 projects at a time .. but was hesitant to pay 1000$ for a portal..

so, people when it comes to money for strategic marketing , their thought process only defeats them..

India is just going through the Shopping Mall revolution, once that slowly dies down and people move online for shopping in a big way, thats the tipping point I believe. It will be quicker is some industries - maybe banking, stock market, job search etc but slower in others. Its coming..

yes, its testing patience, slowly,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i cannot hold my portfolio for more then a decade as per current scenario ;)

Great sales meditang, specially i like it when co.in names get good price, that shows that co.in market is also "alive"..Great going and best of luck for future sales and carnival.co.in

I would hope it's real! You need special verification to bid more than $10K.
Good point, I would imagine that if I had a bid for $55K, I would not think twice about sending it to auction. I'll just take the money and run.
